A Chippendale walnut side chair having a serpentine crest rail with a central carved shell and molded ears, above an owl-eye shaped splat, slip seat and straight front legs with pierced knee brackets.  Made in eastern Massachusetts, circa 1780.  In original condition  with a fine old finish.  X-Nathan Liverant & Son, Colechester, Ct.
