A stately pair of Federal brass andirons having urn-shaped finials, cylindrical columns above rectangular plinths and arched legs supported by bold ball and claw feet.  These andirons are quite tall at 26 3/4", and they are 21" deep.  They are in excellent condition and would grace any fireplace.  They were made in the late 18th century, probably in Philadelphia.
