A superb ash or maple turned burl bowl of rare large size at 19 3/4" diameter and 6 3/4" high.  The bowl has a molded top edge and a nice dry, dark surface.  It is fine overall condition with no cracks or chips.  However, there are several worm holes and a thin patch that appear just on the outside of the bottom but that fortunately do not penetrate the interior of the bowl.  American, early 19th century.  Burl bowls of this size and condition are seldom seen.
