A Hepplewhite walnut chest having a
rectangular top with applied edge moldings above a case with four
graduated drawers flanked by chamfered quarter columns, and all
supported by tall French feet. There is single line lightwood
inlay around the edge of the top, around the drawers and on the
chamfered quarter columns. Probably eastern Pennsylvania,
circa 1790-1810. The brasses are replaced; otherwise the chest is
in fine condition with a mellow honey color. H-38 3/4", D-21
